Most talents never become world famous. Many artists have died in poverty and alone. To be an artist is to be always on the edge. Some artists work in workshops, some work in other fancy places, most of them work in the streets. A spectacular street artist painter shows us his fast painting skills. He uses only fingers, paint and two pieces of glass. In less than 3 minutes a beautiful painting comes to life. Why artists work in the streets? Maybe you can earn more money, maybe the feeling of freedom or just a way of life. Anyway it is something you want to buy as a souvenir. Unfortunately we don’t know who this man is. We hope he will create many other great paintings.

Max Zorn creates something out of barely nothing – brown packing tape and a scalpel. The technique is all about taping several layers of tape. Each layer is precisely changed with a scalpel thus creating an image of art. Max began this last year in Amsterdam and made several works of art in Portugal and Spain, Germany and other countries worldwide.

One word – amazing. This is not Photoshop or any other manipulation made by any program. This is real hand-made metal bicycle. It’s placed on a needle to show how small it is. The work is made by world famous metal artist from Tula, Russia. His most famous work is the shoed flee (you can see it by continuing reading this post). Everything started when he bought a microscope and started to work at his shoed flee project. Nicolay prepared himself for two years and then began. It took 3 months. That was the moment of truth for him – he wants to do that for living. previously he worked many years as fitter for couple companies but there was no hesitation in leaving the job of a fitter. He got a nickname “левша” or left-handed. The sad thing is that Nicolay is no longer among us. He died two years ago leaving an amazing collection of his works.We hope to honor him with this post.

Calvin is recognized among museums, advertising companies, private collectors and publishers. This “paper guru” has more than 70 works in his famous Follet collection and there is much more.

What is your dream? A big house, a big family or something more different? For many traveling is the thing. Just imagine riding in a car along ocean on a sunny day with your friends, singing and joking. Still for many this dream is far beyond their possibilities. Also for a very sad office toy. But the world belongs to the reckless ones. So the sad toy decides to use Google Street View and a toy car to travel, but where to go? Somewhere sunny and beautiful – the Pacific coast.

Google Street View stop motion animation made by director Tom Jenkins from “The Theory” shows us that anything is possible, also if there is at least one way we can do it. All screen imagery was animated and there are no screen replacements. Music is performed by the Cinematic Orchestra and the track is Arrival of the Birds. A great project by Tom Jenkins. Take a photo. How difficult is that? Now imagine doing that for almost 4.5 years – from 26th september year 2006 till 12th may year 2011.  One of many amazing internet projects presents us a daily photo compilation of  a young woman. We clearly see how time passes away but she doesn’t changed a lot. Maybe because of the cosmetics? It’s for you to decide. Hm … maybe they have such videos for some 40 years?

Chan Hwee Chong lives in Hamburg, Germany, and works for Kolle Robbe design studio as an art-director. Graphic design and installations are his hobby.It took 3 months for Chan to create these works. Chan needed precision and patience. If there is at least one mistake you must start the work all over again. By drawing circles and putting different pressure on the pen at different parts of the circles you get a visible image.

“Running from a cat”

The world of dreams is amazing. We approach a fantasy land during our dreams. Photographer Jan von Holleben knows that. And the German newspaper ZEIT knows Jan von Holleben. ZEIT asked the photographer to create visual work for a feature on dreams and what they mean to us.  Jan von Holleben is known for his Dreams of Flying so this was his case.
The photographer says: “I was a bit bored by redoing my Dreams of Flying images,” he tells us, “but the more I worked on the layouts and ideas, the more excited I became. I started imagining generic dreams but soon decided to make it about a girl’s full night of dreams. That was the key. I looked for a beautiful girl to work with who was not too model-like but instead was very natural, sweet and happy to try various things with me. It’s never a normal photo shoot with my productions as we improvise a lot and try and play.”
